Press Release by the Authority for the Responsible Use of Cannabis
EN
Further to yesterday’s communication, the Authority for the Responsible Use of Cannabis (ARUC) informs the public that immediate action has been taken in coordination with the Planning Authority to address the situation concerning the commercial outlet near Stella Maris College, Gżira.
The advertisements in question have since been removed.
ARUC will continue to monitor developments closely in collaboration with the competent authorities. The Authority reiterates its firm commitment to safeguarding the core principles underpinning Malta’s cannabis reform – namely that the reform was never intended to promote normalisation, and that effective regulation and responsible oversight remain essential pillars of the framework.
The protection of minors and the integrity of the reform remain a priority.

B’referenza għall-komunikat tal-bieraħ, l-Awtorita’ għall-Użu Responsabbli tal-Kannabis (ARUC) tinforma lill-pubbliku li ttieħdet azzjoni immedjata b’ kordinazzjoni ma’ l-Awtorita’ tal-Ippjanar sabiex tiġi ndirizzata s-sitwazzjoni li tikkonċerna l-ħanut kummerċjali qrib il-Kulleġġ Stella Maris, fil-Gżira.
Ir-reklamar inkwistjoni fil-fatt ġie mneħħi.
L-ARUC se tkompli tissorvelja l-iżviluppi mill-qrib f ’kollaborazzjoni mal-awtoritajiet kompetenti. L-Awtorita’ ttenni l-impenn ċar tagħha sabiex tissalvagwardja l-prinċipji ewlenin li fuqhom hija msejsa r-riforma tal-kannabis – jiġifieri li r-riforma qatt ma kienet maħsuba sabiex tippromwovi n-normalizzazzjoni, u li regolamentazzjoni effettiva u sorveljanza responsabbli jibqgħu pilastri essenzjali tal-qafas regolatorju.
Il-protezzjoni tal-minorenni u l-integrita’ tar-riforma jibqgħu prijorita’.
